A New Lease of Life

With the advent of the new Eldar codex, my attention was drawn back to my Eldar. I had a large collection of models, some painted, some not and still others somewhere in between. Some had seen many battles, and some had never even been granted more than a second glance.

As I browsed through the codex, I realised that it was now posible to make a full craftworld of Saim-Hann and still have all of the units I enjoyed using. I also decided that I would abandon my attempt to cultivate a second craftworld and return to the red and black horde.

The Task Ahead

Looking at the state of the force, it was clear that there were some changes needed. For one, the yellow had to go. It was one colour too many and detracted from the overall look. I liked the grey weaponry as depicted in the codex, and so the decision was made to copy the official colour scheme as much as I could.

Another thing that needed doing was general repais on the existing units as there were paint chops missing on most metal models. Some of the Guardians needed some real work done to return them to health.

Finally there were units that needed painting for the first time. There were even models that had no unit! I spent one day looking through all of the bits and came up with some additional units.
